Handcrafted in small batches, our Beverage Infusion Kits make it easy to create delicious cocktails or refreshing mocktails at home. We blend locally sourced dehydrated fruits, bitters, syrups, and natural herbs for vibrant flavor that infuses beautifully into your favorite spirits.
Unlike many infusion kits, we use zero artificial colors and no artificially flavored sugars — just real ingredients, thoughtfully combined and crafted by our hands from start to finish. Always.

Why 'The 5280 Mermaid'?
The name The 5280 Mermaid reflects two places that shaped Sarah’s family story. Today she calls Colorado home, living 5,280 feet above sea level at the base of the Rocky Mountains. But before that, her family lived in Cape Cod, where the beach was always their happy place. During her son’s cancer treatment, the ocean became one of the few places where he could forget what he was going through and simply be a kid again. Even now, a mile above sea level, the beach remains close to Sarah’s heart — and the mermaid is a reminder of that connection.
We are a woman-owned small business proudly giving back tothe cancer community.
In 2011 during Addison's (Sarah's 5 yr. old son) cancer diagnosis and treatment, Sarah discovered her true passion behind parenting: cooking and bringing joy and comfort to the people around her.
Kleinhans Kicking Cancer evolved into The 5280 Mermaid to bring you products that tempt your taste buds and tickle your funny bones.

Founded by Sarah Kleinhans and her children after her son’s leukemia diagnosis, The 5280 Mermaid grew from a family’s difficult season into a Colorado small business dedicated to spreading joy. Known for handcrafted beverage infusion kits, comfort foods, and playful gifts, the company creates small-batch products while giving back to families navigating cancer treatment.

"The Jalapeno Mango Margarita infusion is to die for! I infused some blanco tequila with it for about 4 days in a sealed Ball jar. Then I mixed it with skinny margarita mix (that's it!), about 2 parts margarita mix to 1 part tequla. I added a fresh lime wedge and a Tajin rim, and voila! A perfect spicy, skinny margy!"
